Kalix Legacy Foundation Goalie Camp
This upcoming August, Kalix Legacy Foundation (KLF) is going to host the first annual Southern Alberta free goal camp for low-income households in Airdrie, Alberta. This camp will be free for 24 goaltenders in age groups U9 to U18. Our camp will be led by Nathan Rohl and Nadia Belanger, along with several volunteer coaches. Natalie and Nathan have experience in hockey, both playing up to the junior level. Nathan is also a well-recognized goalie coach for teams and organizations in and around Calgary and Airdrie, Alberta. There will have several volunteers who will all have experience in hockey and/or specifically goaltending. Our purpose for the camp is to provide quality goaltending training both on and off the ice while also creating momentous interactions for the goaltenders attending.
The camp will be split into two different age groups, U9/U13 and U15/U18, and will consist of four ice times and two dryland sessions for each group. Lunch and dinner will be provided for the goalies on both days and will include speeches from mentors. Each kid will get a jersey for the camp along with swag to take home. All goalies are welcome to apply, but please note that goalies will be chosen first based on their financial needs and/or restrictions.
The camp structure will be the following:

To make it as accessible as possible for the families, the KLF will help with accommodations for families traveling over 135 km with a hotel room (one room - two nights) and assist with equipment if needed through our partner, East Side Sports. The families will be welcome to join the staff and goalies for dinners at the end of each night (either communal meals or with gift cards to local restaurants) and snacks for attendees will be available throughout the camp.
The deadline to apply is June 30th, and applicants will be notified of their acceptance or waitlist status by July 15th.
