Coach 1 - Intro to Coach for female coaches
This message is being distributed to various contacts within minor hockey associations in Alberta. Please circulate this information to eligible female coaches in your MHA, and encourage them to register for this outstanding clinic opportunity.

As part of Hockey Canada's “We are Coaches” program, Hockey Alberta is hosting a Coach 1 - Intro to Coach course for female coaches (regardless of coaching female hockey or mainstream).
Coach 1 - Intro to Coach is intended for coaches at the U7/ U9 age divisions. Before attending the in-person Coach 1 - Intro to Coach course, coaches must have completed the HU-ONLINE Coach 1/ Coach 2 course.
Clinic Details
Date: Sunday, October 15 starting at 8:30 am.
Location: East Calgary Twin (ECTA) Blue Arena, Calgary
Cost: $22 (plus GST).Coach 1 reviews the basic tools coaches will need in the areas of leadership, communication, teaching skills, and effective practice planning. This is taught with the special consideration of our youngest athletes in mind. Upon completion of the IN-PERSON Coach 1- Intro to Coach and HU-ONLINE Coach 1/Coach 2, coaches will achieve “TRAINED” status. There is no “CERTIFIED” status for this course.
For the clinic please ensure you bring the following:
- In Class - Notepad, pen, pencil and/or IPad, laptop
- On Ice - Skates, stick, gloves, CSA-approved helmet
Refunds will only be given up to 72 hours in advance less a $4 administration fee.
